During August 2026, the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University delivered a series of specialized training programs and learning opportunities in artificial intelligence as part of its efforts to expand students’ knowledge, strengthen their practical skills, enhance their readiness for the labor market, and keep pace with the rapid advancements in the field, in conjunction with the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026. In collaboration with the Saudi Digital Academy, the College offered two training programs: “Agentic AI,” which introduced students to the next generation of artificial intelligence systems capable of performing tasks and making decisions, and “Computer Vision,” which provided hands-on exposure to computer vision technologies and their applications in image analysis, video processing, and intelligent systems. To further strengthen applied learning, the College partnered with Tuwaiq Academy to organize a training bootcamp titled “Building Artificial Intelligence Models,” benefiting approximately 20 participants from both inside and outside the University and focusing on developing competencies in AI model development while enhancing technical knowledge and digital capabilities. On the international level, students from the College participated in a specialized artificial intelligence training program organized by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in partnership with Huawei in Shenzhen, China, as part of an initiative to prepare and develop university students from Saudi Arabia. The program provided participants with exposure to the latest artificial intelligence technologies and innovative solutions, opportunities to explore AI applications across various sectors, and insights into global practices in digital innovation, while also strengthening communication skills and the ability to work effectively in multicultural international environments. These programs and international engagements reflect the College of Computer and Information Sciences’ ongoing commitment to building specialized expertise in artificial intelligence and supporting the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan through student empowerment and expanded learning and training opportunities in partnership with specialized organizations. They also support the University’s priorities in education, innovation, and digital transformation while aligning learning outcomes with labor market needs in terms of knowledge, skills, and values.
