Students from the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University secured second place with their project, “Waddah,” in the “Code for Entrepreneurial Projects” Competition organized by the University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The project was developed by Fawz Al-Mutairi, Ghaida Al-Zahrani, Rawan Al-Harbi, Raghad Al-Otaibi, and Sadeem Al-Shahri under the supervision of Dr. Shorouq Al-Sinan. “Waddah” is an interactive therapeutic game powered by advanced artificial intelligence technologies and developed using authentic Saudi speech data collected from therapy sessions conducted under the supervision of specialists in collaboration with King Abdulaziz University Hospital. The project aims to provide a personalized therapeutic experience for Arabic-speaking children facing speech and communication challenges. It seeks to make the treatment journey more accessible, effective, and sustainable by combining speech-disorder diagnosis, adaptive therapy, and continuous monitoring within a unified interactive platform, thereby supporting children and their families while enhancing the quality of therapeutic services. This achievement reflects the students’ ability to leverage artificial intelligence to develop innovative solutions with meaningful social impact and demonstrates the College’s success in preparing highly qualified graduates capable of contributing to the health and education sectors through technology-driven innovation. Dr. Manal Al-Owhali, Dean of the College of Computer and Information Sciences, emphasized the significance of the students’ achievement, noting that this distinction reflects the high level of competence and creativity demonstrated by the College’s students and underscores the College’s commitment to empowering them and supporting their participation in distinguished competitions and programs that foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and professional growth. This accomplishment further reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to advancing the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s Strategic Plan by preparing competitive graduates, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, and supporting the development of innovative technological solutions that contribute to national development.
