About the Unit

The Research Unit in the college of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences was established upon decision no. (7361) from the H.E. the Rector on 30\4\1437 H. The center is under the research centers unit at the Vice Deanship for Scientific Research. Its aim is to fulfil the needs for researches in the field of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. It lays the foundation of scientific research, develop plans and the programs, improve the researches laboratories, as well as encouraging cooperation agreement and partnerships with universities, academic and research institutions, and community institutions locally, regionally and globally. The center strives to improve and support and encourage the scientific research, and conduct outstanding basic researches in order to increase the efficiency of the faculty members and students in the field of scientific research. This methodology will result in qualitative and quantitative achievement in the field of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and lead to transforming the acquired knowledge in scientific research. At the center, we will have the opportunity to mix between the different specialization in the college of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, thus having a base to explore different horizons of knowledge, innovation, creative thinking and development.

Objectives of the Unit

-Enhancing collaboration between departments and multidisciplinary research and innovation across the healthcare and rehabilitation professions.

-Promoting the concept of research quality and research ethics.

-Facilitating the research excellence ecosystem through the effective utilization of intellectual, financial, and material resources across the university.

-Building scientific collaboration that attracts distinguished and qualified researchers through organizing seminars, forums, or research participation.

-Supporting applied research and community partnerships based on research priorities proposed by the College's Vice Deanship for Scientific Research.

-Enhancing the research skills of faculty members, students, and college graduates.

Two students participated in Poster presentation of the 1st PNU Research Summit in May 2024.

One faculty member won the UAE Next Mastermind Award 2024 on 24 February 2024.

The award was presented in the category of Excellence in Mental Health.

One student participated in Health Innovation Hackathon 19-22 January 2024 Conducted by KSAU with the innovation of “Zoom out”.

One student won the Best Paper Award in the Mindfulness Realities track at the International Student Research Conference (ISRC 2023), held on 8–9 December 2023.

Her supervisor also received the award. The conference was organized by Westford University College, UAE, and Universidad Católica de Murcia, Spain.

One faculty member was awarded in recognition of outstanding service and dedication to the Child Life Program.

Two students received the Saudi NIH funding for the 2023–2024 academic year.

The funding supports training and development in the field of health research.

-One faculty member won the Award of Outstanding Woman Researcher in Clinical Psychology 8th Venus International Women Awards (VIWA 2023) by Venus International Foundation.
