Nature and Goals of the Program

The program prepares specialized graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of nuclear medicine technologies. It enhances their professional, communication, and leadership skills. It also empowers students to effectively contribute to promoting health and radiation safety in the community. The program also provides them with the necessary research skills to conduct research to develop the field of nuclear medicine technologies.

Nuclear Medicine technologist, Radio pharmacist, Radiation Safety Officer in government and private hospitals, clinics, primary health centers, universities, educational centers, research institutes, energy, radiation and renewable energy studies centers, and centers for radiation protection and its associations.

Program Details

  1. 1-To provide the graduate with the knowledge and skills needed within the field of nuclear medicine technology.

  2. 1- Describe the theoretical principles and safety standards related to the field of nuclear medicine.
  3. 2-Provide an overview of procedures, applications and radioactive drugs associated with the nuclear medicine profession and research.
  4. Skills:
  5. 1-Relate characteristics of vital signs, radiopharmaceuticals and anatomical structures to physiological and pathophysiological processes.
  6. 2-Apply theoretical principles related to the practice of nuclear medicine and research in different contexts.
  7. 3-Demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving ability and effective communication in the processing of different procedures.
  8. Values:
  9. 1-Demonstrate leadership and ethical and professional behavior in different teams and settings.
  10. 2-Compliance with occupational safety and patient safety rules when dealing with radiation sources.
  1. 1-Knowledgeable of the basic concepts, theories and principles associated with the field of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  2. 2-Capable to use recent technology effectively as well as use the attained theoretical knowledge to perform nuclear medicine diagnostic or therapeutic examinations on a patient in an accurate, safe and timely manner in different contexts.
  3. 3-Critical, innovative and creative in response to different challenges related to nuclear medicine profession.
  4. 4-Adaptable to different environments through self-learning and through participation in learning situations that encourage development of competencies and professional characteristics related to the nuclear medicine profession.
  5. 5-Capable of displaying leadership required for the full use of their intellectual abilities in different environments related to the nuclear medicine practice.
