Leadership Message •

​Today, ​data represents a fundamental pillar in the University’s journey toward excellence and sustainability. Based on our belief that data is a national strategic asset, the Data Management Office aspires to establish an integrated framework for data management and governance in compliance with national standards, thereby enhancing transparency, improving data quality, and supporting data-driven decision-making. Through adopting national and international best practices and adhering to regulations governing data management and protection, the Office seeks to empower all University entities to maximize the utilization of data and transform it into added value that supports education, research, and innovation. Through cooperation and integration with data-owning entities and units, the Office contributes to achieving the University’s strategic goals and supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. We ask Allah for guidance and success.

Key Responsibilities •

Supervising:

  • ​​Defining the practices and procedures that help ensure the management of assets and data governance.
  • Establishing a reference framework and a roadmap to describe data, its components, their relationships, and its management.
  • Modeling data that serves the entities according to their specializations, describing it, identifying its components, and defining the relationships between them.

Policy Setting:

  • Defining the controls and policies for data sources and their primary origin to provide accurate and consistent data to ensure its utilization, in coordination with the decision support management.
  • Establishing policies related to data (data quality, data warehouses, data freedom, open data, freedom of information, content and document management, data classification, personal data protection). ​

Coordinating:

  • Organizing a set of periodic processes to process data and ensure its quality, validity, and accuracy to meet work requirements.
  • Coordinating with the decision support management to activate artificial intelligence techniques in collecting and analyzing all data .​

Developing Systems:

  • Defining mechanisms to transfer and integrate data through the distributed systems within the university and ensure data is not duplicated.
  • Defining the necessary systems, procedures, and technical solutions to protect data from unauthorized access, in collaboration with the Security Management."
