Standing Committee for Academic Appointments

The Standing Committee for Academic Appointments, established under the Scientific Council, carries out its duties in accordance with the approved authorities, decisions, and executive rules. Its responsibilities include:

• Reviewing appointment requests submitted by university faculty members and non-university applicants.
• Reviewing requests for transfers between academic departments and between colleges.
• Reviewing requests to change the designation of a specialization.
• Reviewing requests for extensions of service.
• Reviewing requests to engage part-time professors.
• Reviewing requests for resignation and early retirement.
• Reviewing requests to confer the title of Professor Emeritus on retired faculty members who held the rank of Professor.
• Reviewing requests to confer honorary doctorates.
• Proposing procedures governing the Committee's work and submitting its recommendations to the Scientific Council.
