The Standing Committee for Scientific Journals and Scholarly Publishing, established under the Scientific Council, carries out its duties in accordance with the approved authorities, decisions, and executive rules. Its responsibilities include:
- Proposing the scholarly publishing policy for publications issued in the name of the University.
- Reviewing books submitted for consideration toward the minimum scholarly output requirements for promotion, publication, or translation.
- Recommending the formation of editorial boards for scientific journals and approving the payment of editorial board honoraria after reviewing their annual reports.
- Monitoring and developing the University's scientific journals in accordance with the Executive Rules for the Publication of Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journals at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.
- Recommending the publication of scholarly, academic, and educational works, as well as translated works, by University faculty members who wish to have their works published at the University's expense, in accordance with the University's executive rules for publishing.
- Proposing procedures governing the Committee's work and submitting its recommendations to the Scientific Council.
