The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University won the silver medal at the Seoul International Invention Fair (SIIF) held in South Korea for an innovation aimed at enhancing the delivery of medications in a more effective and efficient manner. The achievement came through the participation of a group of female students in developing “Ruban”, a smart wearable drug delivery device designed to administer medications through the skin with high precision. The device can manage and distribute nine different types of treatments without mixing them and relies on advanced technologies, including biosensors and artificial intelligence signal processing. The participating students were Lamaa Al-Dosari, Ruba Al-Anzi, Dana Al-Otaibi, Ruba Al-Rashidi, Rehab Al-Tamimi, and Muneera Al-Fawar, under the supervision of Dr. Noha Al-Basha and Dr. Reem Al-Wuhaibi. Dr. Noha Al-Basha, Head of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and team supervisor, stated: “This achievement reflects the College’s commitment to contributing to the university’s strategic plan, which focuses on developing graduates’ innovation and entrepreneurship skills and preparing them to become active contributors in the local and global labor market.”
