About The Academic Program

The Psychology Program’s vision lies in achieving scientific excellence in the field of psychology to build a cultured and educated society that can effectively compete in various domains. It strives to contribute to the development of the community and promote sustainable growth through the preparation of cognitive and professional psychologists. The program’s mission involves preparing cognitive and professional psychologists contributing to the field of psychology, and scientific research to serve the community and achieve sustainable development. It also aims to prepare psychological specialists characterized by global professionalism, enrich knowledge through the presentation of psychological research outcomes that contribute to sustainable development, and actively engage in partnerships with institutions in various psychological fields

According to the classification by the Ministry of Civil Service for graduates with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a graduate of the Psychology program can qualify for various job categories, including: - Specialized roles (Psychologists, researchers, and measurement and evaluation specialists). - Educational roles (Student counselors, student monitors, and researchers and specialists in student affairs). - Administrative and financial roles (Investigators, researchers and specialists in municipal councils and elections, cases researchers). - Cultural, media, and social relations jobs (Print media monitors, social security specialists, social workers, social supervisors, social monitors, working in pre-schools, housing supervisors, housing monitors). - Jobs in the private sector job market. Specialized roles in private centers and clinics (Psychologists -measurement and evaluation specialists).

Nature and Goals of the Program

The study in the Psychology program follows the system of credit units (approved units).

1- Preparing highly professional psychologists.
2- Enriching knowledge through providing psychological research output that achieves sustainable development.
3- Creating effective partnership with institutions in the psychological field in its various domains.

1- Knowledge and Understanding: The student should be able to:
- Review a set of concepts, theories, and developments in the field of psychology.
- Identify the guidance and therapeutic processes and practices (diagnosis, guidance and therapy techniques and programs, and their design).
- Describe research methodology and investigation methods (measurement and testing methods, statistics, research and experimentation).
2- Skills: The student should be able to:
- Apply psychological concepts and theories to human behavior.
- Practice investigation, verification and research methods (statistics, measurement skills, scientific research) on psychology topics and issues.
- Use appropriate methods, tools and techniques in communication, guidance and psychological therapy (diagnosis, design and implementation of treatment plans and programs).
- Utilize technical tools and programs in the field of psychology and promote community awareness.
3- Values, Autonomy and Responsibility: The student should be able to:
- Adhere to the professional and ethical standards of the psychology profession.
- Teamwork, achieving goals and planning tasks in a cooperative environment.

1. Knowledge in psychological concepts, principles, theories, and recent developments in the field, and their application in various contexts.
2. Proficiency in practicing a set of specialized tasks and processes (assessment, diagnosis, counseling and treatment techniques, program design and implementation).

5. Utilizing scientific research methodologies and appropriate statistical methods in academic and professional tasks.
