Clinical Sciences Department

 About the department

The clinical sciences department at the College of Medicine at Princess Nourah University is concerned with providing the most advanced clinical training and seeks to graduate highly qualified doctors who are trained by distinguished academic physicians.

Each member of the department seeks to develop and implement the latest methods of education and clinical training which starts usually in the third year until graduation. Students​ during this period will be trained in all major specialties including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics, and gynecology in addition to sub-specialties such as orthopedics, radiology, family medicine, medical research, and others.

The department members cooperate and collaborate continuously with each other and with university hospitals to ensure the delivery of best locally and internationally recognized clinical training to our medical students.   

The department includes the following divisions:

1- Internal medicine division, which teaches the following courses:

  • Internal Medicine for the third year
  • Internal medicine for the fifth year
  • Radiology
  • Psychiatry
  • Dermatology
  • Forensic medicine and toxicology​

2- The surgery division, which teaches the following courses:

  • General surgery for the third year
  • General surgery  for the fifth year
  • Orthopedics
  • Ophthalmology
  •  Ear, Nose and Throat surgery
  • Anesthesia

3- Family and community medicine division, which teaches the following courses:

  • Family Medicine​
  • Community medicine
  • Biostatistics

4- Pediatrics division, which teaches the following courses:

  • Pediatrics

5- Gynecology and Obstetrics division, which teaches the following courses:

  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
