The Department of Language Preparation aims to develop students' linguistic abilities for a variety of purposes.

The department offers two academic programs:

  • Arabic Language Diploma Program for Non-Native Speakers (Academic Purposes):

This program is designed to teach non-Arabic-speaking students—both internal and external scholarship recipients—the linguistic skills and components necessary to pursue their university studies at Saudi universities.

Recently, a fee-based diploma program was introduced for resident non-Arabic speakers. This is an intensive program aimed at equipping students linguistically to enable them to study at Arab universities. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is awarded a Diploma in Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers.

  •  Arabic Language Instruction Courses for Various Purposes:

This program aims to enable participants to communicate effectively within the Arab environment in general, and the Saudi context in particular.

 It is offered for:

  •   Official foreign delegations
  •  Local foreign institutions
  •   Non-Arabic-speaking residents

The program is offered for a fee.

Information about the placement test:

  • The Arabic Language Placement Test aims to determine the language level of students accepted into the Arabic Language Institute.
  • The placement test measures proficiency across all language skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking), and evaluates linguistic components such as phonology, vocabulary, and syntax.
  • All female students enrolled in the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Arabic Speakers are required to take this test.
  • Passing the placement test in Arabic does not guarantee exemption from any course or admission into a particular level; it is solely intended to determine the appropriate placement level for the applicant.
  • The test is conducted in person at the Institute, according to the announced date and time.

Application Method:

For students eligible for scholarships from outside the Kingdom or residents within the Kingdom:

Applications are submitted through the “Study in Saudi Arabia" platform, the official platform of the Saudi Ministry of Education, according to the announced scholarship conditions.

For applicants not eligible for scholarships (such as residents inside the Kingdom with valid residency permits):
