About the Center
Research centers have become a pressing necessity in light of the growing role of knowledge and creativity in work and the economy, and the rise of semantic and content technologies that fill the world today, which multiplies the importance of research centers in order to absorb the stage and keep pace with the great change in knowledge, technology and work trends. Research centers enjoy great importance due to their fundamental role in the process of comprehensive and effective renaissance and development. The research center of the College of the Humanities and Social Sciences, which was established on 10/1/1435 H, is one of these centers that is concerned with research studies, projects, courses and workshops in the human sciences of various kinds, which serve the university's policy and vision in order to achieve leadership and excellence.
Main Objectives
- Activating and developing the movement of scientific research in various fields by financing research projects or through joint cooperation with the private or government sector.
- Linking scientific research policies with the university's goals and the needs of society.
- Supporting distinguished competencies from faculty members and postgraduate students by setting up excellence awards for distinguished researchers.
- Focusing on the quality of outputs by providing a stimulating and clear research environment.
- Supporting original research that carries the character of renewal and innovation, and research that leads to the rooting of Islamic, Arab and national identity.
- Raising the level of research by identifying the training needs of faculty members in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences , and coordinating with the Deanship of Development to hold training courses.
Key Responsibilties
- Preparing the annual plans for the center and following up on their implementation after they are approved.
- Proposing the general objectives and policies for the research activity in the educational departments of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and following up on their implementation.
- Communicating with the educational departments to motivate and encourage them to activate everything that supports the research process.
- Encouraging the formation of research groups and teams between different specializations.
- Supporting research projects in accordance with the regulations and systems of scientific research.
- Raising the level of research by identifying the training needs of the faculty members at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and coordinating with the Deanship of Skills Development to hold training courses.
- Submitting publication requests for distinguished scientific theses, academic books, and research.
- Establishing an information database for the scientific production of the faculty members at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Establishing an information database for the ongoing research projects to follow up on the implementation stages according to the approved plan for each research.
- Establishing an information database for the completed research to exchange it with the relevant universities and research centers for each research.
- Creating an information database for the reviewers from the faculty members in all the college's specializations from the universities of the Kingdom.
- Facilitating the task of the female researchers by contacting and establishing companies with specialized centers and authorities to exchange information and experiences and provide assistance to the female researchers as needed.
- Providing scientific advice to the entities related to the specializations in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
- Carrying out any other tasks assigned to it within its area of expertise.
