About the Vice deanships :

The Vice deanships  for Research, Innovation and Business seeks to achieve academic and research excellence in the fields of humanities, which are in line with the college's strategic plan projects and the university's strategic goals, and in alignment with future plans for higher education (Afaq) and the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The Vice deanships  also seeks to contribute with academic departments in developing and creating distinguished postgraduate programs and diplomas that keep pace with the university's research, qualitative and academic excellence, as well as working to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship by providing the optimal attractive environment, and supporting it with reasons for success and stimuli for thinking, work and guidance, leading to translating this into practical outputs and competitive national cadres, and innovative projects that play an effective role in the knowledge economy and achieving sustainable development.

 The Vice deanships 's tasks :

  1. Achieving academic and research excellence, and caring for female graduate students.
  2. Developing and creating distinguished and desirable postgraduate programs and diplomas in the labor market.
  3. Supporting innovation and encouraging talents, and working to provide an attractive environment for them.
  4. Encouraging specialized institutions locally and internationally to form partnerships with the university to provide qualitative and sustainable programs and initiatives.
  5. Documenting and developing community contributions made by university members, both inside and outside the campus.
  6. Empowering entrepreneurs on how to create and implement their projects to achieve commercial benefits.
  7. Investing human resources from specialized expertise and activating the college's fixed assets in coordination with the Facilities Management and the University Development Institute.​


Affiliated departments and units :

1. Research and Innovation Unit

The Research and Innovation Unit is an urgent necessity in light of the growing role of knowledge and creativity in work and the economy. This unit, which was established in 1435 AH, is one of the most important units concerned with research studies, projects, courses and workshops. It also seeks to discover innovation among members and students, support and develop it through cooperation with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the university. The most important objectives of the unit are:

  • Proposing general objectives and policies for research activity in the educational departments of the college, following up on their implementation, and providing scientific advice to parties related to specializations in the college.
  • Encouraging the formation of research groups and teams between different specializations while maintaining the college's research priorities, and supporting research projects in accordance with the regulations and systems of scientific research.
  • Spreading the culture of creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among students and members, and attracting and sponsoring ideas and projects with creative and innovative ideas.
  • Establishing multiple databases that include (the scientific output of college members - ongoing research - completed research that has been financially supported) to benefit from them on an ongoing basis.

 

2. Postgraduate Programs Management

This unit is the basis on which postgraduate programs are based, as it seeks to create master's, doctoral and diploma programs according to the labor market study, which enables bachelor's degree graduates to join one of these programs to raise their job and academic performance. It also cares about current programs and seeks to develop them, in addition to following up on postgraduate students from registering their research plan to discussion and awarding the degree. It also cares about holding meetings with students in the college to discuss the needs of students and the most prominent difficulties they face and educate them about the most important systems and regulations. Among the most prominent objectives of this unit:

  • ​Striving to develop postgraduate programs in the college.
  • Creating programs and diplomas according to the needs of the labor market.
  • Following up on postgraduate students from registering the plan until awarding the degree.
  • Raising awareness among female students about their rights and the most important regulations related to them.


3. Partnerships and Community Responsibility Management

Partnerships are the main driver in the development process as they are responsible for continuous and quality cooperation with local and international entities and universities. Community responsibility is also a sustainable approach adopted in order to fulfill duties towards society. The most prominent objectives of this unit are:

  • Seeking to establish local or international strategic partnerships to advance the university's status and progress in the global ranking.
  • Opening the door to communication between the university and regional and international organizations and bodies, and supporting academic and research cooperation between Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and highly ranked international universities.
  • Disseminating the values of community responsibility and its applications within the university, to motivate its community to adopt positive behaviors towards the outside community.
  • Enhancing awareness of the importance of extended integration between the university and the surrounding environment.


 4. Business and Project Management Office

This unit seeks to achieve the goals of the college and the university to improve their capabilities in planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring various activities, including the optimal use of resources and capabilities to achieve the goal of sustainable development. The unit is concerned with the branches of business and project management that are distinguished by their quality, and creating a positive and effective environment to increase investment opportunities for the college. The most prominent goals of this unit are:

  • ​Leadership in planning, implementation and evaluation of projects in the college.
  • Creating a positive and effective environment to increase investment opportunities, and contributing to increasing the economic resources of the college.
  • Exploiting available resources and capabilities to achieve sustainable development.
  • Developing the House of Expertise project, and working to develop it and make it a financial resource for the college.​


Researcher's Voice Project  :

Since scientific universities are the incubator of scientific research and postgraduate studies, the university's vision was based on supporting scientific research, and the plan of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences was in line with the university's plan, so scientific research and its development was one of the most important goals of the college. In order to strive for development, the college launched this project, which aims to meet the needs of male and female researchers for inquiries. The most prominent goals of the project are:

  • ​To be the main reference in responding to research and scientific inquiries, as well as a reference for research ideas for scientific dissertations and promotion research in various specializations in the college.
  • For the project's website to be one of the most important search engines for inquiries and research ideas inside and outside the university.​
  • To make it possible to benefit from retired college members with experience in the fields of selecting research topics, and providing advice to researchers.
  • Using technology in scientific research, and seeking to train researchers on it, which saves effort and time.​
