About the Deanship
The Deanship aims to achieve academic and research excellence in the field of humanities, which aligns with the College's strategic plan projects and the University's strategic goals, and is in line with the future plans for higher education (Afaq) and the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The Deanship also seeks to contribute with the academic departments in developing and creating distinguished postgraduate programs and diplomas that keep pace with the research, qualitative, and academic excellence at the University. It also works to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship by providing the optimal attractive environment, and supporting it with the reasons for success, motivations for thinking, work, and guidance, leading to the translation of that into practical outputs, competitive national cadres, and innovative projects that play an active role in the knowledge economy and achieve sustainable development.
Vice Deanship Key Responsibilties
- Achieving academic and research excellence, and caring for postgraduate students.
- Developing and creating distinguished postgraduate programs and diplomas that are in demand in the job market.
- Supporting innovation and encouraging talented individuals, and working to provide an attractive environment for them.
- Encouraging specialized local and international institutions to establish partnerships with the university to provide quality and sustainable programs and initiatives.
- Documenting and developing the community contributions made by university members, whether on campus or outside.
- Empowering project owners on how to establish and implement their projects to achieve commercial benefits.
- Investing in human resources from specialized expertise and activating the college's fixed assets in coordination with the Facilities Management and the Institute of Development at the University.
Departments and Units
Research and Innovation Unit
The Research and Innovation Unit is an urgent necessity in light of the growing role of knowledge and creativity in work and the economy. This unit, which was established in 1435 AH, is one of the most important units concerned with research studies, projects, courses, and workshops. It also seeks to discover innovation among members and students, and to support and develop it through cooperation with the University's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
Department of Postgraduate Studies Programs
This unit is the foundation upon which postgraduate programs are built. It seeks to develop master's, doctoral, and diploma programs based on a study of the job market, which enables bachelor's graduates to enroll in one of these programs to improve their professional and academic performance. It also cares for the current programs and seeks to develop them, in addition to following up on postgraduate students from the registration of the research plan to the discussion and granting of the degree. It also organizes meetings with students in the college to discuss the students' needs, the most prominent difficulties they face, and to educate them about the most important systems and regulations.
Office of Partnerships and Social Responsibility
Partnerships are considered the main driver in the development process, as they are responsible for continuous and fruitful cooperation with local and international entities and universities. As for social responsibility, it is a sustainable approach adopted in order to fulfill duties towards the community.
Office of Business and Project Management
This office seeks to achieve the goals of the college and the university to improve its capabilities in planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring various activities, including the optimal utilization of resources and capabilities to achieve the goal of sustainable development. The unit is concerned with the two branches of distinguished business and project management, and creating a positive and effective environment to increase the investment opportunities for the college.
Researcher's Voice Project
Since scientific universities are the incubator of scientific research and graduate studies, the university's vision has focused on supporting scientific research. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences has aligned its plan with the university's plan, and scientific research and its development have been one of the college's most important goals. In pursuit of this development, the college has launched this project, which aims to meet the inquiring needs of researchers.
