Department of Journalism and Media Organizes the Second Activity of the Investigative Journalism Course to Develop Students’ Research and Investigation Skills

The Department of Journalism and Media at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, organized on Monday, 17 November 2025, the second activity of the Investigative Journalism course at the college premises. The activity was held as an extension of the Investigative Journalism course, with the aim of enhancing students’ research and journalistic investigation skills, and applying the practical component of the course through realistic investigative projects carried out by students during the academic semester. The activity included training presentations and applied discussions delivered by the students, addressing mechanisms for information gathering, methods of source verification, and standards for preparing professional journalistic investigations. The students also demonstrated a notable ability to propose journalistic issues closely connected to societal realities. This activity comes as part of a series of educational initiatives offered by the Department of Journalism and Media to qualify journalistic cadres capable of efficiently practicing fieldwork and producing high-quality investigations that keep pace with media developments. It aligns with the efforts of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and contributes to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 Plan, which aims to enrich the educational experience and achieve excellence in teaching and learning.
