Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University signs a memorandum of understanding with AstraZeneca for training and research purposes

​Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AstraZeneca Pharmaceutical Company on Tuesday, 06/09/1439 AH, corresponding to 22/05/2018 AD. The memorandum aims to develop training programs for students of College of Pharmacy in accordance with the latest standards of training and quality approved by the specialized bodies, in addition to the development of research programs for students and staff of the two institutions.

 

The agreement was signed by the Vice-Rector for Health Affairs, Dr. Ghadah bint Abdulaziz bin Saif, and the Chairman of the Saudi AstraZeneca Company, Dr. Ismail Shehada, at the University's headquarters.

 

Dr. Ghadah bint Saif stressed that this type of partnerships contributes to raising the level of scientific and research achievement of the graduates and also refines their personal and technical skills and qualifies them to engage in the labour market efficiently and competently, which contributes to achieving the Kingdom's Vision 2030. She pointed out that it opens new horizons for academic staff to develop joint research projects with leading companies in this field.

 

Dr. Shehada expressed his delight for the signing of this agreement, which contributes effectively to give students the appropriate opportunity for theoretical and practical training in the field of medicines. He also stressed that this partnership is a distinct step in strengthening the labour market with competencies, which in turn contributes to professional education in various fields.

 

This agreement seeks to achieve the University's strategic goals of promoting a culture of creativity, excellence, innovation, and patents by building distinctive and influential relationships with researchers, partners, and the business sector and society.​
