The Department of Surgery is one of the main departments of college of medicine at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. It focuses on the integration of clinical care, teaching, and research to supports the mission and goals of PNU. The department comprises five essential units: the General Surgery Unit, Orthopedic unit ,the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Unit, the Ophthalmology Unit, and the Anesthesia Unit. The Surgery Department encompasses various specialized fields within surgery, including general surgery and hepatobiliary surgery, colon and rectal surgeries, pediatric surgery, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, vitreo-retinal and refractive surgeries, lacrimal and oculoplastic surgeries, orthopedic surgeries, pediatric orthopedics, and anesthesia. The staff of the Department of Surgery provides care of patient at the surgical wards, outpatient clinic and operating theatre. They also provide undergraduate and postgraduate education to medical students, interns and residents.
