​Main Tasks:

  • Assembling, inspecting, and preparing network access points, network devices (distributors), and wireless network devices in the university campus.
  • Monitoring network issues, working to resolve them, and ensuring the reduction of their occurrence in the future.
  • Ensuring the continuous operation of the wired and wireless network through constant 24-hour monitoring for performance and following up on issues and working to resolve them.
  • Managing and implementing a network address distribution system for all devices connected to the university network.
  • Preparing periodic reports to measure and monitor performance, such as internet consumption reports and others.
  • Conducting all performance tests periodically on network devices and taking necessary actions to improve their performance.
  • Managing, monitoring, and updating the storage servers at the data center in the university campus.
  • Developing a proposal for backup policies and getting it approved by the competent authority.
  • Monitoring the backup process and coordinating with various departments to ensure the quality of the backups.
  • Researching the latest technology to improve the performance of the current storage units or develop them to newer systems.
  • Management, monitoring, and updating the work of various system servers (Windows, Linux, and other servers).
  • Studying, providing, and activating all licenses related to supporting systems and software.
  • Studying, providing, and activating licenses for virtual environment systems.
  • Managing peripheral devices during their access to the secure university network.
  • Preparing backup copies of configuration and setup files for various systems and servers to be used in case of disaster recovery.
  • Developing the necessary plans to restore data in case of disasters (God forbid).
  • Managing the resources related to the university's services available in the cloud, including providing infrastructure resources.
  • Monitoring the cloud service providers regarding technical support, updates, and development.
  • Building new cloud services provided by the university for its staff and coordinating with other university departments regarding the provision of distinctive and effective cloud services.
  • Implementing and evaluating cloud and virtual environment usage plans, and participating in developing cloud and virtual environment usage plans.
  • Deploying the virtual environment for various electronic service servers.
  • Enabling wide network access according to usage and security policies.
  • Aggregating available resources to ensure flexibility and speed in providing virtual services.
  • Evaluating the virtual service measurement service to ensure the proper use of infrastructure resources, platforms, and applications.
