A specialized center which is established to support students with special needs through providing high quality and comprehensive services related to academic, administrative, psychological, social and technical aspects, based on the latest research practices, research evidence and international standards; thus, it contributes to the integration of these groups and enabling them to serve themselves and the community.


​Key Responsibilities

  • Determining the appropriate academic and technical adaptations for female students with disabilities, according to what is included in the official reports.
  • Following up and coordinating the application of individual academic and technical adaptations for female students (examination adaptations).
  • Coordinating the process of providing students with assistants  (note-takers, readers, sign language interpreters).
  • Dealing with the complaints and grievances of female students with disabilities.
  • Guiding students with disabilities and guiding them towards developing their personal, social, professional and technical skills
  • Providing advice and support to members of the educational body
  • Honoring distinguished female students in the sports, academic, cultural and innovative fields.
  • Organizing school visits to learn about the university and majors for secondary school students with disabilities
  • Holding awareness training courses for faculty members and university employees.
  • Holding introductory meetings in the faculties by the center’s specialists to introduce it.

​Unit services

 Office of Academic Support​:

The Academic Support Office is concerned with the student from her enrolment in the university to her graduation by assessing her needs and then preparing the support document, which includes the adaptations needed by the student in the classroom,

Technical Clinics:

​This program is designed to provide technical consultations through the digital clinic in the Support Unit for Students with Disabilities. The technical consultations involve assessing the needs of the disability category​

Academic and Technical Adaptations:

​The support document includes academic and technical adaptations, whether provided within the classrooms or during examination periods. These adaptations vary depending on the type of disability and the individual needs of the students

“Support Me” Program:

The program provides advisory sessions by a group of specialists with the aim of supporting the faculty members at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and equipping them with the appropriate mechanisms for teaching students with disabilities

Assistive Technologies Lab:

​The assistive technologies laboratory is interested in supporting the student technically, as it assesses her need for technology, and then gives recommendations on the appropriate technology for her.​
