About the Program
A program that cares for the health of the community of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University with a comprehensive health concept through its three axes (psychological, social, and physical) by motivating and mobilizing the university community of various specializations, colleges, and departments to participate in improving the health of students and university members according to the following four levels: the participation in knowledge through continuous communication and exchange of information and seeking advice between the program and the colleges and departments, and the stage of partial participation goes beyond the stage of cognitive communication to the stage of partial participation in planning, implementation, or evaluation, and advanced participation is represented in full participation in decision-making and problem-solving and obstacles in all stages of the project. And empowerment, where the community represented by the colleges and departments takes the lead in the project. The Nourah Health Program will undertake at all levels the planning, guidance, motivation, counseling, follow-up and evaluation to achieve the agreed objectives. The program works on an ambitious vision that includes raising the performance level of community programs to build a pioneering model at the level of Saudi universities that is concerned with the general health of the student and employee with its comprehensive concept by empowering the community. Through its message, which is to mobilize the community of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and their partners towards changing policies, creating health initiatives and accomplishing community research to enhance the health of the community in line with the National Transformation and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
Main Goals
- Integrating health into the systems within Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, in implementation of Cabinet Resolution No. 46708 dated 12/10/1438H.
- Building a community health record for the most important indicators of public health, whether social, psychological, or physical, to facilitate the development of initiatives and projects.
- Building a university environment that supports health, enabling its employees to fulfill their professional duties and enabling students to fulfill their academic responsibilities.
- Intervention and support in crises related to the health of students or employees through comprehensive support groups for all targeted individuals.
- Communicating with partners to prepare public health studies that serve the university community's health strategy.
- Effective communication with students and adopting email and mobile phones as one of the most important means of direct communication.
- Ensuring the continuity of high-quality community intervention programs with active participation from all partners inside and outside the university.
- Enabling unique community health programs to spread at the national or international level.
- Raising the performance and proficiency of community health programs by studying and evaluating them to reach tangible results on the health of students and employees.
- Starting a project to transform the university into a Health Promoting University by the end of 2020, based on the principles of the World Health Organization.
