The Deanship of Student Affairs Activates World Mental Health Day
The Deanship of Student Affairs activated the World Mental Health Day, corresponding to October 10, with the participation of a number of entities, including colleges and deanships, (Student Life Agency - Student Services Agency - Student Clubs "Humanities and Social Sciences Club, Law Club, Student Education Club, Science Club, Dental Club, Nursing Club, English Language Enrichment Club, Nibras Club, Sports Sciences and Physical Activity Club, Pharmacy Club, Applied College Club, Vision 2030 Club, Sustainable Development Club, Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Club, Medicine Club). Al-Bishri" - Psychological and Social Support Unit - Female Sports Club), with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of mental health, identifying ways on how to deal with psychological stress and finding solutions to it, providing a positive, safe and supportive environment for students to express their feelings, combat the prevailing view associated with mental illness, and encourage them to seek psychological and social support through the counseling services of specialists or support groups.
Among the most important events and activities related to mental health, its concepts and importance in the life of the individual were the following: a training workshop for female students entitled (Your mental health is our priority), a sports show presented by a group of students on mental health at the female sports club, and a running race "A Step for Your Peace of Mind" organized by the Applied College in the sports walkway at the university.
The number of beneficiaries in the events reached approximately 2210 beneficiaries, in various university facilities (colleges - A4 recreation center for female students - university housing - sports club for female students)
The activation of this day comes in line with the endeavors of the Deanship of Student Affairs to create a more understanding and receptive environment for the subject of mental health, and to build a "healthy community", as it is an important axis in the university's strategic plan as a health-promoting university.
