Planning:

  • Preparing approved annual plan of the vice-rectorate for graduate Studies and Scientific Research and following up on its implementation, once approved.​
  • Proposing executive regulations, instructions and circulars related to graduate studies and scientific research activities at the university and following up on their implementation, once approved.​

Supervising:

  • postgraduate programs and proposing their development.
  • Scientific societies and journals at the university and following up on their activities according to rules and regulations.
  • Research chairs, following up on their activities according to rules and regulations.

Partnerships:

Strengthening partnerships with other universities, research centers, and the public and private sectors to finance scientific research at the university, stimulate scientific partnerships and develop postgraduate programs. ​

Maintaining:

  • the university’s intellectual output through intellectual property programs and patent registration.
  • the information resources related to the university’s educational and research activities and providing colleges with learning resources.

Encouraging and Empowering:

  • Issuing approval to send faculty members to participate or attend conferences inside or outside the Kingdom.
  • Approving the payment of rewards for refereeing research, books, promotions, and dissertations.
  • Adopting inventors and innovators, providing a supportive environment for their inventions, and spreading a culture of innovation.​  
  • Encouraging researchers to excel in international classified scientific publishing.​

Studying Cases:

  • related to appointment to the rank of (Instructor/Lecturer/Assistant Professor) and recommending promotion.
  • related to the promotion of faculty members to the rank of associate professor and professor.
  • related to sabbaticals and scientific communication submitted by faculty members.​
  • related to extending faculty service and contracting after retirement.​​

Following up on:

  • internal and external scholarship programs and joint supervision to meet the needs of the academic departments at the university.
  • the work of the Standing Committee on Scientific Research Ethics.​
