“Human Common Grounds” Course

​On Wednesday, 22/06/1440 AH, Arabic Language Institute for Non-Arabic speakers affiliated to Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in cooperation with King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, held its second session in World Ambassadors Hall located at Student Services Center A4, entitled “Human Common Grounds", as part of World Ambassadors Program (Cultural Dialogue), as this program continues on weekly basis through organizing five training courses.

 

The course was presented by Ms. Hana Al-Sheikh, a certified trainer from Dialogue Academy, organized by Ms. Salma Al-Enazi, a staff member of student activity at the Institute, and Ms. Budoor Al-Blaihid, the officer of the International Hall, who highlighted concepts of cultural relations, and clarified basic and fundamental principle towards understanding others, explained the eight human common grounds "public and private", showed its essentiality to lives of people and in case they are compromised, it leads to wars and bloody conflicts. In addition, she drew attention to the basic common ground i.e., doctrine, as well as the three supportive common grounds, then she tackled triangle of ideas, determinants of identity, stereotype and presented some pictures and what they denote and stand for.

 

Ms. Hana wrapped up this session with directing questions to students about the stereotype and mental image of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia before they came to study, and names of the students were registered to receive certificates from King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue.
