About the Department

The Department of Training and Clinical Affairs provides health care through the college's clinics, where the clinics of the College of Dentistry were opened in 2013, which provide integrated health care to all segments of society, through preventive, diagnostic and curative services, and commitment to the application of comprehensive quality standards and continuous development in accordance with local and international standards, to ensure that graduates have the ability to perform outstanding in the labor market, based on values, principles and ethics emanating from the teachings of our tolerant Sharia.

The therapeutic services in the clinics of the Faculty of Dentistry include emergency service, treatment of gums and tissues surrounding the tooth, conservative dental treatment, nerve and root canal treatment, mobile and fixed prosthodontic prostheses, oral and maxillofacial surgery, treatment of children's teeth, and orthodontic service.
This system of services also depends on advanced equipment from the laboratories, radiology and sterilization departments, in addition to the expertise of therapists from doctors and nursing services, noting that one of the distinctive and positive aspects of the clinics is that it is an advanced educational climate for female students at the College of Dentistry at Princess Nourah University.

Tasks of the Department

  • Providing an applied clinical training program for trainees inside and outside the college.
  • Arranging and coordinating medical examination procedures for all trainees in cooperation with the University Medical Center and the Student Training Office of Academic Affairs at King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Hospital.
  • Collect the bank account number for all students and communicate with the Department of Rewards and Salaries at the university.
  • Communicate with training centers and ensure that all trainees obtain seats in training centers classified by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties to acquire various skills.
  • Describe and present the requirements of the training and internship program for intern doctors.
  • Preparing a booklet and guide for the Training and Internship Unit.
  • Preparing high-quality and efficient training based on educational foundations.
  • Determine the unified evaluation standards, models and tools in cooperation with the Quality Department at the college.
  • Providing educational activities and workshops in various disciplines.
  • Providing qualifying programs for the professional license exams of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
  • Providing qualifying programs for the labor market.
  • Preparing qualifying programs for postgraduate studies.
  • Follow up and solve all problems faced by internship students during the training period inside and outside the college.
  • Coordinate the participation of interns in community service and volunteering campaigns.
  • Coordinate and follow up research groups, supervise the process of scientific research, and ensure their commitment to the time plan from the
    Scientific Research Department.​
  • Providing supervising specialist doctors to follow up on clinical skills.
  • Raise and discuss matters related to training and trainees with the Training and Internship Committee.​
