Bachelor of Arts Program in Library Science and Information

About the Program:

The department of Library Science and Information was first established on 1405H as one of the key academic departments in the College of Arts.

Through its many information and knowledge equipped graduates who have filled positions in the private and public sectors, the Department aims to enrich the information field in line with the requirements of the labor market. The department offers a modern, wide-ranging academic plan, developed in accordance with the best local and international quality standards, taught by a scientifically competent and experienced faculty members. All of this, in turn, contribute to improving the output of the department and achieving its stated vision and goals.

Admission Requirements: 

1-      The student must be a Saudi national.

2-      The student achieves a high school certificate from a Saudi school or an equalized one.

3-      High school graduation year should not exceed 5 years.

4-      Each student (whether has graduated from a local high school, a foreign one, or studied national or international programs) must have taken the General Aptitude Test (GAT) and an Academic Achievement Test from the National Center for Assessment.

5-      The student must pass any required interview or placement test.

6-      The student must be medically fit.

7-      The student must meet any acceptance criteria announced or set by the University's Board during the application process.

8-      The student must not be registered, accepted, dismissed for dciplinary action, or has previously obtained a bachelor's degree from any public or private university in Saudi Arabia. If proven otherwise, the university may cancel the acceptance.

9-      The student must not have any previous record in the university and has never obtained any degree from the Community College.

Program period:

The original program period is four terms, with a possibility of offering summer terms.

The maximum graduation period is eight terms.

6-      Practical applications.

7-      Problem-solving techniques.
