As part of its commitment to supporting innovation and academic empowerment, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented by faculty members and students, is participating in the “Babson Camp” as part of the “Innovation Challenge for Sustainability” initiative. The initiative is organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in partnership with Prince Mohammed bin Salman College and Babson College in the United States. The goal is to foster entrepreneurial thinking among the competition’s winners and introduce them to opportunities for developing and advancing entrepreneurship, held at the Babson College campus in the United States. The Babson Camp, which continued until July 11, 2025, is considered an advanced educational experience offering a comprehensive training program that includes a set of courses and workshops focusing on entrepreneurial thinking and practice, leadership, design thinking, opportunity analysis, business models, negotiations, and entrepreneurial financing. It also includes the “Rocket Pitch” competition, which simulates presenting entrepreneurial ideas in a competitive environment. The camp provided participants with opportunities to engage in individual and group activities aimed at enhancing skills, generating ideas, assessing opportunities, and designing projects with social and economic impact, contributing to preparing a generation of leaders capable of connecting knowledge with sustainable solutions. It is worth noting that Princess Nourah University's participation in the Babson Camp came after its students won first place in the Environment and Agriculture track of the "Innovation Challenge for Sustainability" initiative. This achievement was earned through their participation with two entrepreneurial projects titled: “Contributing to Plant Growth and Restoring Environmental Balance in Degraded Areas”, and “An Early Detection System for the Red Palm Weevil Using Artificial Intelligence”. These projects were presented by Dr. Naha Al-Otaibi, Dr. Lubna Abdulkarim, and students Dana Al-Ruwaiss, Dana Al-Shammari, Manar Dhamad, Munira Al-Otaibi, Joud Al-Yaqub, Tala Al-Buwaileed, and Deema Al-Shaya. This participation reflects Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s efforts to support the objectives of its 2025 Strategic Plan, aimed at empowering university members, both faculty and distinguished students, encouraging participation in international events, supporting the research and innovation ecosystem, and strengthening women’s entrepreneurial presence on global platforms.
