About the department

The College of Science was established with the approval of the Holy Spirit No. 3030 AD dated 3/23/1428 AH to include four scientific departments, one of which is the Department of Chemistry, in order to prepare scientifically qualified staff. The College of Science looks forward to updating its study programs for the bachelor’s level to keep pace with modern scientific development in order to achieve its competitive outcomes in the market job.

The Department of Chemistry is distinguished by its excellence in the field of basic sciences and scientific research, locally and internationally, and in promoting social responsibility. Excellence in providing scientifically and professionally qualified human competencies to meet the needs of development plans in the Kingdom. The Chemistry Department offers distinguished, academically accredited educational programs in the fields of pure and applied sciences. New educational programs are used that keep pace with the requirements of the times and development needs. The department supports joint research by establishing local and global partnerships to enrich the knowledge economy. It also enhances the Arabic library with distinguished scientific literature. Finally, promoting volunteer work in the field of basic sciences​

Purpose of the program

1. Obtaining  graduates who are able to take responsibility and contribute to solving community problems

2. Preparing specialized staff who are academically and professionally qualified to work in various research fields

3. Serving the needs of the community inside and outside the Kingdom with distinguished communication skills

Career opportunities for a graduate of the Chemistry Department are diverse, as she can work in the following fields

  Benefiting from chemistry graduates working in higher education institutions and in public education

  Other fields: Work in government agencies or the private sector, such as laboratory supervisors, or in quality laboratories, pharmaceutical factories, chemical factories, and water desalination factories.
