The College of Law at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University launched, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the “Artificial Intelligence and Law” Forum. The event brought together faculty members from the College of Law and the College of Computer and Information Sciences, along with university students, at the university’s Center for Natural and Health Sciences Research. The forum highlights the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal field, introduces participants to the basic concepts of AI, and discusses legal issues related to liability arising from the use of AI technologies. It also examines the extent to which current policies align with the challenges posed by AI systems in the area of intellectual property rights. Several academics, researchers, and specialists in both law and AI are taking part in the forum’s panel discussions, which address key topics such as: “Artificial Intelligence: Concepts, Applications, and Legal Challenges,” “Legal Liability Arising from AI Applications,” and “Artificial Intelligence, Intellectual Property Systems, and Policies.” The “Artificial Intelligence and Law” Forum serves as a specialized academic opportunity to explore the impact of AI on law, strengthen knowledge of its concepts and applications in the legal sector, and discuss legislative solutions to emerging legal challenges. The forum comes as part of the efforts of the College of Law—represented by the Department of Private Law—to contribute to achieving the objectives of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University’s 2025 strategic plan. These objectives include preparing competitive graduates, developing 21st-century skills among students, supporting research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and aligning with labor market needs—all in line with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of empowering women.
