Overview

The Department aims to launch and develop a portfolio of qualitative courses at various levels as general courses for all students at Princess Noura University.

 

Tasks

  • Following up on preparing and updating the electronic content of general requirement courses in coordination with the Department of E-Learning.
  • Determining the needs of academic sections and faculty members before the beginning of each semester in coordination with the colleges.
  • Preparing study schedules and exam dates for all university requirement courses in coordination with the Deanship of Admission and Registration and the colleges.
  • Supervising the registration of courses for students in accordance with the approved regulations.
  • Following up on the progress of the educational process, lectures and exams for university requirement courses in coordination with the colleges.​

Registration and Schedules

The Registration and Schedules Office enters the academic schedules into the system and provides support and assistance to the students, standing by to solve their problems and provide appropriate solutions for them.

Academic Advising

Since the student is the focus of the educational process, the Preparatory Year has sought to activate the role of academic advising, believing in its importance in guiding the student academically and helping her overcome the difficulties she faces, and working to raise the level of awareness among the students of the regulations and systems through:
  • Providing academic and guidance information to the student and increasing her awareness of the university's mission, goals, and regulations
  • Encouraging students to participate and attend activities within the university and local conferences
  • Providing advice to students and responding to their inquiries
  • Encouraging students to be diligent and pay attention to their level
  • Encouraging outstanding students to continue their excellence, commending their excellence, and ensuring that their opinions and suggestions are taken into account​

About the Unit

It is a unit that includes all the laboratories operated for the practical courses for the students of the Foundation Year and the students of the health colleges after specialization. It also includes the following learning resources (the library, computer labs) which serve the students of the Foundation Year.
