| The Foundation Year of the health colleges was established upon the approval of the Minister of Education based on the recommendations of the University Council (first session of the academic year 2013-2014). The main objective of establishing the Foundation Year was to equip the students with the necessary English language and basic knowledge requirements that would ultimately enable them to enroll in the different health colleges. This deemed necessary as it is an international orientation to prepare the new students to be effectively engaged in the university learning environment through an intensive foundation program that aims at improving the university graduates so as to be professionally qualified for labor market. |
It has been proven locally and internationally that the Foundation Year plays a vital role in preparing the students for the university learning environment as it is acknowledged that there is a knowledge gap between the outcomes of the public education and the expectations of the skills that university students should minimally have.
