Introduction:


Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman university, represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries, recognizes the critical role of reference articles in advancing scientific impact and shaping global research trends. These articles serve as essential tools for knowledge gathering, literature analysis, and identifying research gaps, especially amidst the rapid advancements in science and technology. In this context, this research funding program aims to achieve the following goals:

·         Encouraging researchers to focus their scientific efforts on creating high-quality reference articles that reflect academic depth, align with the university's research priorities, and contribute to its institutional identity and aspirations.

·         Identifying research gaps and proposing future research directions that foster innovation and advancement in scientific fields.

·         Supporting decision-makers and scientific policymakers by providing research centers and academic institutions with reliable, up-to-date reference reports.

·         Promoting publication in globally recognized, indexed scientific journals listed in the Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection, with impact factors according to the Journal Citation Report (Clarivate Analytics). This initiative aims to enhance the academic reputation of researchers and promote the university's scientific presence and institutional ranking by producing high-citation reference articles.

·         Strengthening the university's efforts to obtain academic accreditations by advancing high-quality scientific output and improving research performance indicators related to quality and impact.
