Overview:

In alignment with Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University's mission to achieve excellence and leadership in scientific research and innovation, the University's Vice Rectorate for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries, is committed to implementing a strategic plan that reinforces its identity and provides a supportive and attractive research environment for researchers. This is achieved through the adoption and launch of several initiatives and programs that encourage scientific research and innovation, one of which is the Innovative Research Initiative aimed at supporting scientific research with an innovative character, particularly research resulting in patent registrations.

This initiative encourages innovators from Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to publish scientific papers based on patents previously registered with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and with one of the following international patent offices:

  • U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
  • European Patent Office
  • Japan Patent Office

These patents must be wholly or partially owned by Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

The financial support for this initiative is a one-time grant of 30,000 SAR per published scientific paper. This funding is awarded once the paper is indexed in globally recognized journals within Web of Science, specifically those included in the following citation indexes:

  • Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)
  • Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI)

The paper must be listed in these core collections to be eligible for the funding.
