Key Responsibilities

1

Planning:

  • ​​Proposing policies and comprehensive plans for university projects and facilities, and monitoring their approval.
  • Preparing plans and supervising planning and engineering studies for the current and future needs of the university. 
  • Proposing necessary projects for the university and setting the standards and technical specifications required for their implementation.
      ​

Preparing:

  • the annual budget requirements for new projects.
  • the necessary technical specifications for operating and maintaining university facilities and monitoring such processes through forming an integrated engineering body to ensure continuous operation with efficiency and high quality.​

Coordination:

  • Supervising associated administrative units and coordinating between them to ensure integration of their activities and maximum utilization of available resources.

Managing Projects:

  • Developing programs, monitoring university engineering projects according to specified technical standards, scheduling for implementation to control work quality, and defining performance indicators.
  •  Managing investment for university facilities with companies and awarding approved projects to implementing companies according to statutory procedures.​

Ensuring the Security and Safety:

  • ​Overseeing the security and safety of the university campus by supervising safety procedures at university sites, facilities, and properties, as well as individuals.
  • identifying the manpower needs for these activities and working on their development.​

Promoting Sustainability:

  • Ensuring sustainability and implementing supportive activities at the university campus level, while also ensuring environmental safety and proposing improvement plans.

Managing:

  • ​residential complexes and units in the campus, monitoring operation and maintenance for all facilities within these units, and providing comfort to faculty members and students.​
  • sports and recreational facilities for faculty members, students, and staff, developing, maintaining, and regulating the provided services.​

Providing Services:

  • ​​​Offering high-quality services to serve the university campus, facilities, and support services.​
  • Ensuring safe and smooth traffic flow within the university campus and between the university campus and the surrounding area.​

Determining the Needs:

  • ​Identifying manpower, equipment, and material needs and following up on their procurement.​
  • Working to enhance the utilization and development of human resources, identifying training needs for administrative staff, and recommending programs to meet those needs.​

Preparing Reports:

  • Compiling periodic reports on the activities and achievements of the directorate and proposing development initiatives, presenting them to the university president.
  • Conducting specialized analyses to support decision-making and managing and improving the content of the directorate’s website within the university's portal, providing technical advice upon request.​

Managing Contractors:

  • Contributing to the negotiation of contracts for operation, maintenance, risk and safety.
  • ​Supervising contractors' and consultants' contracts within the scope of the granted authority
  • Monitoring the work of implementing companies for operation, maintenance, and security and safety contracts, ensuring their full and accurate implementation​
