Mrs. Najat Alhaizan is a lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and an occupational therapist with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in both clinical practice and academic research. She holds a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from King Saud University, where she graduated with First Class Honours.
Mrs. Alhaizan’s professional experience spans paediatric and geriatric care, having worked extensively with children with autism spectrum disorder as well as older adults in aged care settings. Her diverse clinical background informs her teaching and research, which focus on meaningful engagement, inclusive care practices, and culturally responsive service delivery. She has contributed to the establishment of occupational therapy services in new clinical settings and co-developed resources to enhance access to developmental support for children and families.
She is actively involved in research addressing ageing, disability, and equitable access to care in Saudi Arabia, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and ongoing contributions to national and international conferences. In parallel, Ms. Alhaizan has consulted on major public policy initiatives under Vision 2030, particularly those aimed at improving access to education and therapy services for individuals with disabilities.
At PNU, she is committed to advancing occupational therapy education through curriculum development, student mentorship, and participation in departmental committees. Her community involvement includes affiliations with Kebar, a non-profit serving older adults in Riyadh, and leadership in professional and volunteer networks supporting occupational therapy in the region.
