Scholarships

​The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia offers scholarships to non-Saudis to enroll in Saudi universities for different purposes including, but not limited to, communicating the message of Islam, teaching the Arabic language, disseminating sciences and promoting solidarity between Saudi Arabia and the world countries to serve humanity.

In Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Scholarships pision, which is related to the Deanship of Admission and Registration administratively, is responsible for following up the implementation of scholarship programs at the University. It also organizes the admission process according to the regulations approved by the Ministry of Education in the Council of Ministers' Resolution No. (94) dated 28/3/1431 AH- 14/03/2010 AD, which regulates the rules for admission of non-Saudi scholarship students in higher education institutions in the Kingdom.

Scholarship:

It is the seat that the non-Saudi student obtains to study at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

Types of Scholarships:

  1. -External scholarships for non-Saudi students from outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where the student is under the sponsorship of the University.
  2. -Internal scholarships for non-Saudi students residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under legal residence.

Admission Requirements for External Scholarships:

  1. -The applicant shall have the general certificate of secondary education or equivalent.
  2. -The applicant shall not be less than (17) years old and not be more than (25) years old for undergraduate and diploma programs.
  3. -The applicant shall not have received another scholarship from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom.
  4. -Her graduation from the general secondary education stage shall not exceed five years.
  5. -Certificates and documents shall be certified from the competent authorities in the applicant country, as well as the Saudi Cultural Attaché in the applicant country.
  6. -The applicant shall bring a police clearance certificate from the security services in her country.
  7. -The applicant shall be medically eligible.
  8. -The applicant shall not be academically dismissed from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom.
  9. -The applicant country's government shall approve studying in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for countries that so require for Saudi students.
  10. -The applicant shall pass the medical examination as prescribed by the regulations and instructions.
  11. -The applicant shall accompanied by a mahram (male escort), in accordance with the governing instructions, provided that he is covered by the scholarship, has a legal residence or apply to obtain the sponsorship of an employer in need of his services.

Documents required for applying to study on the external scholarships system:

  1. -General certificate of secondary education or its equivalent certified by the Cultural Attaché of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the country of issuance of the certificate.
  2. -A transcript of the general certificate of secondary education or its equivalent certified by the Cultural Attaché of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the country of issuance of the certificate.
  3. -A certificate of good conduct, and in the event that it is not possible, to bring at least two recommendation letters from known entities in the applicant's country.
  4. -A valid passport (for the applicant).
  5. -A valid residence of the applicant's guardian.
  6. -Letter of the approval of the applicant's country to study at the University.
  7. -A recent police clearance certificate that is not less than 5 months from the date of application.
  8. -A medical report confirming that the applicant is free from diseases and is medically fit, issued before the application within a maximum period of three months.
  9. -Submit at least two recommendations for the applicant from a certified body in her country.
  10. -A proof of the kinship relation with the mahram (male escort) from the embassy of the applicant's country inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or any official body in the applicant's country, including the name of the mahram (male escort), his residence number, the name of the applicant, and her passport number. In addition to indicating the kinship relation with the mahram (male escort) or marriage certificate in case the mahram is the husband of the student.

Advantages Offered to Foreign Students:

  1. -The student shall be reimbursed for the value of the air ticket to the Kingdom at the beginning of her scholarship, provided that the compensation shall not exceed the value of the ticket to be paid to her classmates from the same country.
  2. -The newly arrived student shall be paid two months' gratuity as an allowance for processing on arrival.
  3. -The student shall be paid a monthly stipend.
  4. -The student registered in the University shall obtain an annual ticket for her homeland residence at the end of each year and she may use it at any time, provided that she shall obtain it only once and shall not obtain it from another body.
  5. -The graduate shall receive a gratuity of three months as an allowance of book shipping.
  6. A student with an excellent grade shall be paid a lump sum gratuity of SR 500 each semester for her distinction.
  7. -The University shall be responsible for obtaining the visa and residence for the student.
  8. -Providing health care for the student throughout the period of her study.
  9. -The University provides accommodation for the student and appropriate scientific, social, cultural and training care.
  10. -Provide discounted meals for the student.

Admission Requirements for Internal Scholarships:

  1. -The applicant shall not have received another scholarship from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom.
  2. -The applicant shall not be academically dismissed from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom.
  3. -The applicant shall have the general certificate of secondary education or equivalent from inside or outside the Kingdom.
  4. -The applicant shall not be less than (17) years old and not be more than (25) years old for undergraduate and diploma programs.
  5. -The applicant shall hold a valid legal residence.
  6. -Her graduation from the general secondary education stage shall not exceed five years at the time of application.
  7. -The applicant shall pass the general abilities test and attainment test, provided that she has performed such tests maximum within the past three years.
  8. -The applicant shall pass the medical examination in accordance with the medical examination form approved by the University's Scholarship pision.
  9. -The student shall pay the tuition fees after receiving the final acceptance, according to the following instructions:
  10. -An amount of (14,000) Saudi Riyals shall be collected for the year by (7,000) Riyals per semester in literary disciplines.
  11. -An amount of (18,000) Riyals shall be collected for the year by (9,000) Riyals per semester in scientific disciplines.
  12. -The internal scholarship student shall be exempted from the tuition fees after passing the first academic year with a cumulative grade of not less than (4.75) out of (5), for only one semester and the student shall pay the tuition fees unless she maintains the required grade for exemption.
  13. -The student shall be entitled to recover the amount if she wishes to withdraw according to the date of withdrawal, provided that it shall not exceed three weeks from the study commencement date.
  14. -The student shall not be entitled to recover the amount in the case of apologizing for the study of the semester, one month after the commencement of the semester.
  15. -The student shall not pay the tuition fees for the deferred semester, provided that she shall not owe financial dues for the university.
  16. -The University shall be entitled to suspend the student's schedule and withhold the result if the student fails to pay the due installments without prior notice.
  17. -The university shall be notified in case the student does not wish to complete her studies at the university.

Documents required for applying to study on the internal scholarship system:

  1. -A copy of the general certificate of secondary education, and if the applicant has obtained the general certificate of secondary education from outside the Kingdom, it shall be equalized through the Equivalency Committee in the Ministry of Education.
  2. -A copy of the applicant's valid residence.
  3. -A copy of the applicant guardian's valid residence.
  4. -A copy of the applicant's valid passport.

General Provisions and Disclaimers:

  1. -Any application that does not meet the required conditions and documents shall be excluded.
  2. -Submitting more than one admission application by the applicant during the same period will cancel all applications submitted by it.
  3. -Applying for admission to the university and approving thereto electronically shall not mean a final approval as the accepted student will be notified thereof.
  4. -Admission to the specializations available for the admission year shall be accepted, except for the health colleges in all its departments, pursuant to the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (94), dated 19/3/1431 AH, governing the rules for admission of non-Saudi scholarship students in higher education institutions in the Kingdom.
  5. -The scholarship student accepted at the Institute of Arabic Language Teaching to non-Arabic speakers who wishes to complete the undergraduate program shall meet the requirements for the scholarship promotion from a diploma scholarship to a bachelor scholarship.
  6. -Admission requirements and study regulations applicable to Saudi students at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University shall apply to internal and external scholarship students, according to the available seats.
  7. -The applicant shall not be entitled to transfer from Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University to another university and the university shall be entitled for the exception therefrom.
  8. -The Kingdom's residency regulations shall be applied to Internal and external scholarship students.
  9. -The applicable laws shall not allow the transfer of the external scholarship student's sponsorship to another body, or bring its relatives to the Kingdom.
  10. -The external scholarship student shall leave the Kingdom after the end of her study or the termination of her scholarship within a period not exceeding three months from the date of issuing her visa.
  11. -The external scholarship students shall not work for inpiduals, companies or institutions during her study and the scholarship will be terminated in case of violating thereof.
  12. -The University accommodation shall be available for the external scholarship student and the internal scholarship students may use such accommodation against a financial fee of (1000) Riyals per month.

Procedures for applying for an (external or internal) scholarship at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University:

1.    Application shall be available within specified dates to be announced on the page of the Deanship of Admission and Registration on the University website.

2.    Application shall be via an electronic link to be included in the announcement within the period specified for application.

3.    The required documents shall be uploaded via the designated link, in PDF or JPEG format, and then submitted.

4.    Upon the application's completion, the applicant shall be granted a special number (the application number) to be maintained.

5.    For any inquiry about the status of the application, enter the query icon in the electronic link and view the listed notes:

  • (Application is under review) means that the application is under study.
  • (The application was rejected to complete ...) means that the applicant shall modify and complete the application.
  • (The application was completely rejected and the reason shall be stated) means that the application was rejected and excluded absolutely.

6.    After closing the application link, the Scholarship pision will complete the admission procedures as directed by the Ministry of Education and filling thereof to it. Accepted applicants shall be finally notified thereof after receiving the notice of their acceptance from the Ministry of Education by e-mail and telephone.
