Wa'i Program:
Directed Research Program to Support Research in the Field of Intellectual Awareness
Overview
In Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University is dedicated to advancing scientific research both locally and globally, contributing to global security and stability, which in turn impacts economic growth, public health, and the well-being of societies. Through the university's Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries, we recognize the critical role of scientific research in addressing societal challenges and developing evidence-based solutions. With a particular focus on intellectual awareness, loyalty, national affiliation, and the dissemination of knowledge in such areas across multiple languages, the university has launched the "Directed Research Program to Support Research in the Field of Intellectual Awareness."
This program addresses the following topics:
· Extremism: its roots and risks to individuals and society.
· Contemporary intellectual currents and their methods of recruitment and attraction.
· Coexistence and tolerance with non-Muslims.
· The role of technology and its methods in combating extremism.
· Extremism tactics on social media platforms.
· The role of women in combating extremism.
·
Divided into two categories:
1. Projects to be Published in Journals Indexed in the Web of Science Database:
Such projects are subject to the following conditions:
· Projects with a completion period not exceeding 12 months.
- Maximum funding amount is 25,000 Saudi Riyals.
- The scientific outcome should include at least one research paper based on the project's findings, which must be published in internationally indexed journals listed in the Web of Science database.
· 2.Projects to be Published in Peer-Reviewed Journals (Non-Indexed):
· Projects with a completion period not exceeding 12 months.
· Maximum funding amount is 10,000 Saudi Riyals.
· The scientific outcome should include at least one research paper based on the project's findings, published in a peer-reviewed journal affiliated with universities or research institutions in Saudi Arabia or the GCC. The journal must meet the criteria outlined in Article 29 of the faculty promotion regulations and their executive rules for accrediting non-indexed scientific journals.
