Research Projects Program​ 

 

Overview:


The program provides financial support to projects through two installments: the first installment, comprising 50% of the approved budget, is disbursed after the contract is signed. The second installment, also 50% of the approved budget, is disbursed after the final report is endorsed by the Council of the Deanship of Scientific Research and Libraries based on the project's final financial report.

 

To qualify for funding, research must be published in a scientific journal indexed in databases like the Web of Science (WOS) core collection. The journal should be also included within citation indicators such as the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) or the Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI). Research published in journals lacking impact factor (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) or indexed in WOS emerging sources will not be considered as they do not meet the funding criteria.

 

 Researchers can apply for funding by submitting a request to the Deanship of Scientific Research via the research center affiliated with their respective college.

 

 

Divided into two categories:

 

  1. Small Projects:

  • Projects with a completion period not exceeding 12 months.
  • Maximum funding amount is 25,000 riyals.
  • With scientific output of at least one scientific paper based on the research project.

B. Medium Projects:

 

  • Projects with a completion period not exceeding 12 months.
  • Maximum funding amount is 50,000 riyals.
  • With scientific output of at least two scientific papers based on the research project.
