About the Department

The Intellectual Property Department is responsible for managing the University's intellectual property assets. It supports innovators, researchers, and inventors by providing services and managing procedures related to various forms of intellectual property. This contributes to fostering innovation, enabling technology transfer, and transforming research and knowledge outputs into sustainable economic and societal value.

Our Services

Receiving, screening, reviewing, and evaluating intellectual property applications of various types.
Managing the procedures for registering and protecting intellectual property rights with relevant authorities locally and internationally.
Organizing and delivering specialized training programs, workshops, and awareness-raising events in various areas of intellectual property.
Representing the University locally and internationally before relevant intellectual property authorities and entities.
Managing programs and initiatives that incentivize innovators and inventors, including the Patent Incentive Program.
Providing intellectual property consultations, as well as technical and legal support.
Establishing partnerships and fostering collaboration with relevant entities to support the University's intellectual property ecosystem.

General Requirements for Applying for Protection or Registration

The applicant must be a member of the University community. Applications involving individuals from outside the University may be accepted provided that at least one of the contributors to the promising innovative idea is a member of the University community.

Requirements for Disclosure of a Promising Innovative Idea

Disclosure of a promising innovative idea is subject to screening and evaluation in accordance with the following general requirements:

The promising innovative idea must aim to develop a product, create technologies or applications, or derive new solutions from knowledge or services.
The promising innovative idea must be original and must not constitute a copy or imitation of existing or previously developed products, goods, or services.
There must be an investment opportunity associated with the technology disclosed.
If the disclosed subject matter is the joint work of several individuals, they shall share equal rights unless otherwise agreed among them.
If the disclosure involves an individual who is not a member of the University community, written approval from the entity employing that individual, if applicable, must be provided.
A detailed description of the promising innovative idea must be prepared and accompanied by the necessary images, drawings, illustrations, and technical data to support the application and facilitate its review and evaluation.
All application requirements must be completed by filling out the application form, signing the assignment or declaration document, as applicable, attaching all relevant documents and supporting materials, and submitting them to the Registration Unit via the designated email address.
