About The Academic Program

The Master of Science in Computing Science program in Data Science is designed in an innovative way to provide female graduates with the most important basic skills that help them deal with big data, design and produce high-quality programs and systems, provide appropriate economic and commercial solutions, and benefit from the best practices in the field. The program began in cooperation with Dublin City University in 2017, and since then it has been improved to keep pace with developments in the field of data science and to effectively meet the requirements of the Saudi market, in accordance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2023. The Program graduates will contribute to covering the great need in the field of data science, which is one of the most in-demand fields locally and internationally.

Nature and Goals of the Program

This is a two-year fulltime curriculum with four semesters The student will obtain a Master degree in the master of Science in Computing (Data Science)

1 Become savvy practitioners in data science able to participate and conduct data science projects and provide consultancy services in large companies.
2 Engage in entrepreneurship path by starting small data science startups.
3 Engage in continuing professional development through self-motivation and lifelong learning to innovate the next generation of data science techniques and tools and influence the future of the society and companies.
4 Access to the field of research and pursue postgraduate studies.
5 Be committed to moral, ethical conduct, professional integrity, and community service for sustainable development of the society.

1 Demonstrate a good understanding of the concepts, theories, methods and operational characteristics at the forefront of knowledge pertaining to computing, statistics, data science and big data technologies.
2 Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of the main characteristics of the technical tools used to process, analyze and visualize data.
3 Outline the advances in data science in terms of theories, tools, technologies and applications
4 Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of research methods and professional practice.
5 Analyze data science problems, design models to solve them discuss and interpret the results
6 Use appropriate technologies for practical problem solving and evaluate results.
7 Conduct advanced research and data science projects
8 Communicate effectively and correctly orally and in written through appropriate presentations.

1 Ability of all aspects of knowledge related to data science, whether the fundamental knowledge such as statistics or advanced knowledge such as machine learning methods and processing of big data.
2 Ability to use and employ technologies, systems, and programs related to data storage, processing, and analytics.
3 Ability to analyze and formulate data-related problems within the framework of data analytics and to choose, design, and implement the appropriate solution.
4 Ability to participate effectively as a data scientist at all stages of the development of the data analytics and engineering project.
