About The Academic Program

The program aims to prepare specialized women cadres in the field of clinical psychology. The program promotes continuous learning based on modern techniques in the field, which contributes to improving mental health and quality of life in collaboration with mental health sectors. The program structure is courses and a research project in addition to field training.

Nature and Goals of the Program

The specialization of clinical psychology aims to provide the student with basic knowledge and skills about psychological disorders, their types, causes, modern psychological treatment methods, and designing psychological programs to prevent psychological disorders. It also enables him to have the skills of conducting a clinical interview, applying psychological tests, evaluating the case, and writing a psychological report. Providing psychological treatment, with its various demands and multiple forms, to all segments of society.

1-Provide qualified female Clinical Psychologist at postgraduate level who are capable of professional practice according to the latest standards of Clinical Psychology.
2- Promote continuous learning, and innovation according to modern techniques in Clinical Psychology.
3-Conducting research in the field of Clinical Psychology that contributes to the application of evidence-based practice.
4-Contribute effectively to improving community's mental health and quality of life in collaboration with relevant sectors of mental health.

Knowledge and Understanding:
K1: Explain concepts and theories, related to learning methodologies, ethics and professional knowledge of Clinical Psychology.
Skills:
S1: Differentiate psychological disorders, therapies/approaches by using Diagnostic and Statistical manual for mental disorders (DSM) and International Classification of diseases (ICD).
S2: Select the best Evidence Based Therapies (EBT), effective strategies and psychological assessment scales to address various psychological problems and ethical and cultural considerations in the field of Clinical Psychology according to international s
S3: Design therapeutic plans according to clients’ needs with re-evaluation, when necessary, with continuous follow-up.
S4: Analyze the data related to observation, interview, psychological assessment and research (qualitative and quantitative) with interpretation and application of statistical analysis.
