Nature and Goals of the Program

The program seeks to increase awareness in the specialization through supporting individual independence in performing all primary functions and daily activities as well as limiting dependence on others. Occupational therapist deals with each person, whether injured or not, to achieve their occupational goals.

1-Enabling the graduate to apply scientific knowledge and applications in professional practices using the latest technical methods.
2-To graduate an alumnus characterized with professionalism and effective communication with commitment to ethics and human values.
3-To provide graduates with essential research skills to develop occupational therapy practice.
4-Enable the graduates to raise the quality of life, health, and environment of society with related sectors.

Knowledge and Understanding:
K1 Describe the role of an occupational therapist as clinicians and as part of a multidisciplinary team in various settings and contexts.
K2 Outline concepts of health and wellbeing, theoretical and clinical science related to occupational therapy practice.
K3 Identify the interactions between the psychological, physical, spiritual, social, moral, ethical, and cultural issues to guide healthcare choices, delivery systems, and professional behaviors.
K4 Understand different pathologies, injuries and their impact on occupational performance through the life-span.
Skills:
S1 Demonstrate an effective use of assessment and therapeutic intervention to support performance, participation, health, and wellbeing.
S2 Develop metacognitive skills, self-critique and reflection to enable effective occupational therapy practice.
S3 Utilize research skills to support clinical-reasoning and evidence-based practice.
Values:
V1 Apply concepts of holistic client-centered theoretical models, and frame of references of occupational therapy in a variety of practice contexts and cultures.
V2 Comply with characteristics of leadership, ethics, professional behavior and communication in various occupational therapy settings and contexts.
