Peer Review Procedures

  • The researcher sends two PDF copies of the manuscript to the journal's designated research submission email, one of which must be anonymized, along with two Word copies, one of which must also be anonymized. The submission emails are info.islamic.pnu@gmail.com for Sharia research and info.arabic.pnu@gmail.com for Arabic language research.
  • The researcher completes the journal's Author Declaration Form and submits it along with the manuscript copies. Author Declaration Form
  • The researcher submits a letter addressed to the journal's Editor-in-Chief requesting that the manuscript be peer reviewed and considered for publication.
  • The researcher is notified upon receipt of the manuscript.
  • Submission of a manuscript by email constitutes the researcher's acceptance of the journal's publication requirements and conditions.
  • The Editorial Board has the right to conduct an initial screening of the manuscript and determine whether it is suitable for peer review or should be rejected.
  • If the manuscript is deemed unsuitable for peer review, the researcher will be notified. The journal is not required to provide reasons for rejection at this stage.
  • If the manuscript is deemed suitable for peer review, it will be sent to at least two reviewers.
  • Once the reviewers' reports have been completed, the researcher will be notified of the peer-review decision.
  • The researcher must make the requested revisions within one month of receiving them and must provide a detailed response explaining their position on any comments they have not addressed.
  • If the researcher fails to complete the revisions within the specified period, the journal will decline to proceed with the manuscript.
  • The researcher will be issued a Publication Acceptance Letter after addressing the reviewers' comments and obtaining approval from the relevant Editorial Board member.
  • The Editorial Board reserves the right to determine the publication priorities and the technical order in which manuscripts are published.
  • Upon acceptance for publication, copyright is transferred to the journal. The researcher may not request withdrawal of the manuscript after it has been sent for peer review, nor may the manuscript be published through any other print or electronic outlet without written permission from the Editor-in-Chief. The journal also reserves the right to include the manuscript in local and international databases, whether for a fee or free of charge, without requiring the researcher's permission.​


Journal Publication Guidelines

  • The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not extracted from previously published work.
  • The manuscript must demonstrate originality, novelty, innovation, and a meaningful contribution to knowledge.
  • The subject of the manuscript must fall within the journal's fields and areas of specialization.
  • The researcher must submit a declaration confirming that:
    1. The manuscript has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere and will not be submitted to another journal if accepted for publication.
    2. The manuscript contains nothing that violates the principles of Islamic Sharia, applicable laws and regulations, or the Kingdom's orientations, policies, plans, and initiatives; incites discord or division; undermines the kKingdom's security or public order; adversely affects the Kingdom's external relations; serves foreign interests contrary to national interests; infringes upon human dignity or rights; or contributes to provoking sectarianism, damaging reputations, or making defamatory or offensive statements.
  • The manuscript must adhere to established principles and methodologies of sound academic research.
  • The manuscript must not exceed 10,000 words, including the Arabic and English abstracts, references, appendices, and indexes.
  • The manuscript's similarity rate must not exceed 20%.
  • The first page of the manuscript must include, immediately after the title, the researcher's name, academic rank, general and specific specialization, institutional affiliation (department, college, and university), and email address, in both Arabic and English.
  • The researcher must provide two abstracts, one in Arabic and one in English. Each abstract must include a brief overview of the research topic, its main objectives, methodology, key findings, and recommendations, and must not exceed 250 words.
  • Each abstract must be followed by 3–7 keywords representing the fields addressed by the manuscript.
  • The introduction must present the research topic, scope, objectives, methodology, procedures, research structure, previous studies (if any), and the manuscript's scholarly contribution in relation to them.
  • The manuscript must be divided into sections (e.g., chapters or subsections) according to a coherent research structure.
  • The manuscript must be written in polished, specialized academic language, free of linguistic and grammatical errors, with due regard for academic integrity and accurate documentation.
  • Researchers must follow the citation and referencing style published on the journal's website.
  • The manuscript must conclude with a section presenting the main findings and recommendations.
  • A list of sources and references must be included at the end of the manuscript.
  • The journal adopts the Chicago Manual of Style for publication and documentation.
  • Arabic sources must be romanized by providing their bibliographic information in Latin characters in a separate list, while retaining the Arabic citations in the Arabic reference list.
  • All pages of the manuscript must be numbered consecutively, including tables, figures, images, and the reference list.
  • Page margins must be 3 cm on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right), with single line spacing.
  • Arabic manuscripts: Traditional Arabic font, size 16, regular for the main text and abstracts and bold for headings; size 13, regular for footnotes; and size 10, regular for tables and figures, with bold formatting for table headings and captions.
  • English manuscripts: Times New Roman, size 11, regular for the main text and abstracts and bold for headings; size 9, regular for footnotes, tables, and figures, with bold formatting for table headings and captions.
  • Quranic verses must be written in the Uthmani script and enclosed in decorative brackets, using the Madinah Mushaf software. They should be cited in the body of the manuscript by stating the surah name and verse number in square brackets, as follows: [Al-Baqarah: 95].
  • Prophetic hadiths must be cited in footnotes by providing the volume, page, chapter, book, and hadith number, where applicable.
  • The views expressed in manuscripts published by the journal are those of their authors. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy and precision of the information and conclusions presented.
  • Publication priority is determined based on considerations including submission date and the technical requirements for arranging topics.
  • Manuscripts are arranged within journal issues according to technical considerations; no other considerations play a role in determining their order of publication.
  • Each issue of the journal is published in print and electronically on the journal's website. Authors are entitled to receive two copies of the issue in which their manuscript is published.
