SSAS Membership: Types, Requirements, and Registration Procedures


Membership Types

 

Active Membership

Requirements:

  • Holding a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification, in a field relevant to the Society's specialization.
  • Payment of annual membership fees.
  • Meeting any additional requirements determined by the Board of Directors.
  • Approval of membership by a decision of the Board of Directors.

Honorary Membership

  • Granted by a decision of the General Assembly to individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the Society's areas of interest or provided significant support. The honorary membership is valid for three years and may be renewed once.
  • Honorary members are exempt from membership fees and may attend General Assembly meetings and various committee sessions, participate in discussions, and have voting rights.

Affiliate Membership

Available to:

  • Students pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a field relevant to the Society's specialization.
  • Professionals and individuals interested in the Society's fields who do not meet the academic qualification requirements for active membership. Affiliate members are entitled to an 80% reduction in the annual membership fee.

Sponsorship Membership

Available to legal entities, such as institutions and companies, operating in the Society's field of activity. Sponsoring members are required to pay the full membership fee. Representatives of sponsoring entities may attend Society meetings and committees and participate in discussions, without voting rights.

Sponsors may adopt or contribute to Society projects, while the Society promotes and recognizes sponsors during these projects in accordance with their sponsorship level. Sponsorship membership is granted through an agreement with the Board of Directors in exchange for financial support. Sponsoring entities may benefit from the Society's activities and advertising opportunities through the Society and its publications, subject to the discounts specified in the agreement with the Board of Directors.

Honorary President of the Society

The General Assembly may, upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors, nominate an Honorary President of the Scientific Society from among distinguished individuals known for their interest in the Society's fields of activity. The honorary presidency is granted for a three-year term, renewable once, upon approval by the University Council. The Honorary President may chair any meetings they attend.

Members' Responsibilities

  • Upon approval of membership, members must sign the membership register, which includes their name, address, and email address.
  • Members are required to fulfill all obligations stipulated in the regulations governing scientific societies and the Society's internal bylaws.
  • They must also pay the annual membership fee.

Benefits for Active and Affiliate Members

  • Free subscription to the Society's annual publications.
  • An annual meeting with the Board of Directors.
  • Voting rights in the election of the Society's Board of Directors for eligible specialists.
  • Priority early registration for the Society's programs and courses.
  • Inclusion in the Society's member database and receipt of communications regarding the Society's programs and activities.

Bronze Membership

Annual Fee: SAR 700

Benefits include:

  1. One free course from the training courses offered by the Society.
  2. A 5% discount on all Society programs and courses.

 

Silver Membership

Annual Fee: SAR 900

Benefits include:

  1. One free course from the training courses offered by the Society.
  2. A 10% discount on all Society programs and courses.

Gold Membership

Annual Fee: SAR 2,000

Benefits include:

  1. Two free courses from the training courses offered by the Society.
  2. A 15% discount on all Society programs and courses.

Diamond Membership

Annual Fee: SAR 4,000

Benefits include:

  1. Two free courses from the training courses offered by the Society.
  2. A 20% discount on all Society programs and courses

 

Membership Termination

Membership in the Society shall be terminated in the following cases:

  1. Withdrawal or death of the member.
  2. Failure to pay the annual membership fee within one year from its due date.
  3. Loss of any membership eligibility requirement.
  4. Engaging in any act or activity that causes material or moral harm to the Society. In such cases, membership shall only be terminated upon approval by the Society's Board of Directors.
  5. A member being subject to a legal penalty or imprisonment for an offense involving dishonesty or breach of trust, unless five years have elapsed since the completion of the penalty or imprisonment.
  6. Dismissal from public service for disciplinary reasons, unless five years have elapsed since the dismissal.

Membership Reinstatement

Membership may be reinstated by a decision of the Board of Directors upon the member's request, provided that the reasons leading to the termination of membership have been resolved.
