Key Responsibilities

Managing and Supervising:

  • Establishing and developing the security policies and procedures, which serve as the security rules that all university personnel must adhere to in order to achieve the highest levels of information security.​

Protecting:

  • Monitoring the university's network and systems from a security perspective, detecting incidents and hacking attempts, and dealing with them promptly to prevent their occurrence or mitigate their effects.
  • Protecting the university's email systems against malicious emails and spam through updating and monitoring the email protection system (Mail Gateway).​

Providing systems:

  • Providing a secure communication system (VPN) for university personnel when they need to access systems using the internet, with documented policies and permissions that are followed during the service request and approval procedures.

Developing:

  • Implementing international information security standards such as ISO27001, which focuses on developing, implementing, operating, and monitoring a documented information security system at the university. This aims to achieve effective and continuous risk management, and provide appropriate protection for information according to its level of importance.

Implementing:

  • ​Providing information security awareness programs through various methods and channels, including interactive awareness programs for university personnel through the internal network.
