After the issuance of acceptance notices for graduate programs, the scholarships are submitted, and the basic conditions for excellence scholarships are met, the application is submitted within the specified period from the Deanship of Graduate Studies. Applications that do not meet all the basic conditions and required documents will be excluded without obligation to notify the applicant.

First: Basic Conditions

1.       The applicant must be a Saudi national or have a Saudi mother.

2.       The applicant must have obtained an acceptance notice to the University's Graduate Program.

3.       The applicant must have achieved an excellent grade in their bachelor's degree and an excellent grade in the lower levels of the graduate program they have been accepted to

4.       A minimum score of (6) on an IELTS test or equivalent in another English language test (if the language proficiency is a requirement for admission) *

5.       The applicant must have obtained a minimum score of 85 on the General Aptitude Test for Universities (PGAT) or a minimum score of 155 on the Quantitative Reasoning Measure of the GRE General test.

* *The result of the above required tests must be valid until the time of application on the admission portal

 

Second: Stages of Submission

First Stage: Obtaining a notice of admission to the program from the Deanship of Graduate Studies.

Second Stage: Submitting an "Excellence Grant" application by submitting the required documents mentioned in the basic conditions on the scholarship, as well as supporting documents and additional evidence related to the differentiation criteria for the grant, if applicable.

Third Stage: Conducting a personal interview with the committee concerned with granting excellence upon request.

Fourth Stage: After the recommendation of the Standing Committee for Excellence Grants for Postgraduate Students, and the approval of the Standing Committee for Graduate Studies, the results of the Excellence Scholarships will be issued.

Fifth Stage: Notification of the applicant regarding the scholarship award.​

 

Third: Criteria and Mechanism of Differentiation

The Excellence Awarding Committee shall determine the eligibility and category of the scholarship based on the relative weights of the basic conditions and the criteria of differentiation, which are updated annually by the committee.

1.       GPA.

2.       English language test score.

3.       Standardized test score.

4.       Receiving an award, medal, advanced position, or excellence award in local or international competitions.*

5.       Accomplishing a work or works of distinction in creative, skillful, or innovative aspects in special fields and specializations related to the program for which you are applying.*

6.       Obtaining a patent, or achieving an advanced position or excellence award by participating in scientific research, working papers, or conferences organized by accredited bodies.

.* *The criteria for differentiation (4.5.6) are related to fields and specializations in the graduate program to which the applicant has been admitted and must be verifiable and evaluable.

7.       Accomplishing volunteer work and hours.
