Dr. Naifa Aishe Alenazi is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Microbiology in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU). She is a dedicated academic and researcher with a strong focus on combating antimicrobial resistance through innovative therapeutic strategies.
Dr. Alenazi earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceuticals from King Saud University in 2024. Her doctoral research was highly specialized, focusing on targeting the quorum sensing system in MRSA using a novel peptide inhibitor delivered via PAMAM dendrimer nanocarriers. This work built upon her prior Master's degree in Medical Microbiology, earned with Merit from the University of Manchester, where she investigated bacterial resistance genes and combination drug therapies.
Her research interests are centered on antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, nanocarrier systems for drug delivery, and quorum sensing inhibition in pathogenic bacteria. Alongside her research, Dr. Alenazi is committed to academic excellence and curriculum development, having received an Excellence in Education Award in 2025. She actively contributes to her institution through various committees and coordinates several key courses, including Medical Microbiology and Research Methodology.
