On Wednesday, 2 Rajab 1441 AH, corresponding to 26 February 2020 AD, and under the auspices of Dr. Einas bint Suleiman Al-Eisa, Rector of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, who witnessed the opening of “Health Care Simulation Technology Specialist” Conference. As the conference has been organized by Simulation and Skills Development Center of the university, in cooperation with SIMGHOSTS International Organization for Medical Care Simulation Technology Specialists and it lasts for three days.
H.E. the University Rector, Dr. Einas bint Suleiman Al-Eisa, gave a speech in which she talked about the different atmospheres surrounding this conference regarding the traditional health conferences that are held, despite the similarities in the scientific atmosphere, academic weather and white coats. As she noted that the excellence in this conference comes from the term "simulation" itself, which is associated with a stage of creativity in making amazing things, to the point where (error) becomes a method of learning without being at the expense of human life.
The University’s Rector has sent messages through her speech: At its beginning, she welcomed the attendants and speakers, showing the keenness of the university to invest the center to make a link with them to provide studies, research papers and creative works to develop the concept of simulation in health care. In her message to the staff of the center, she focused on the need to conduct purposeful educational research that lead to simulation besides the interest in improving the educational process. In her third message, she invited the participating companies for best recruitment for the potential and creation of students in serving this field. She concluded her speech with acknowledgment to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Crown Prince, and the minister of education for their continuous support to education sector, and for the support and empowerment provided to Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman in order to drive it to progress, renaissance and development.
From her part, Dr. Rola Al-Rabah, Executive Director of Simulation Center, confirmed in her speech on the occasion that the center has strived to harness its services for medical cadres in different fields, whether in academic stage or postgraduate vocational training programs. As well as its concern with the quality of the scientific content submitted by experts and specialists in medical education by simulating to enhance the skills of trainees and their critical thinking they have through simulating training programs by empirical education system in different clinical conditions to avoid mistakes while communicating experiences, with enhancing the health care while hospitalizing patients.
This conference focuses on specialized training in designing, selecting and applying simulating health care in medical education, in addition to occupational development for those who work by simulation technology to achieve system integration.
It is noted that some specialized international and national speakers have participated in the scientific program of the conference, by presenting more than forty diversified workshops in training on simulations for all medical practitioners, of about thirty credited hours by Saudi Commission for Health Specializations.
The event was accompanied by opening an exhibition for the health care simulation equipment and supplies in cooperation with health colleges and leading medical companies.
