Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University will host tomorrow, Wednesday corresponding
2 Rajab 1441 AH, a seminar of "Saudi Caricature Art", which is organized by Saudi Society for Design
and Art (SADA) and presented by a group of outstanding individuals in the field of Saudi Caricature art.
In this context, Dr. Haya bint Abdulrahman Al-Rashoud, the chairperson of SADA and superintendent of the seminar, explained that this seminar tackles the Saudi caricature due to its significant role in the field of visual arts and conveying the message to the recipient in a simple and meaningful manner that is related to values, environment, and society's customs.
Furthermore, Al-Rashoud has indicated that the seminar serves all fields of visual arts as it targets artists, academics, researchers, students, and critics.
The seminar will discuss three main areas, the first of which is entitled (History of Caricature Art) for reviewing the history of Saudi Caricature art and the most important art schools in it. And the second area is under the title (The Artist and Caricature Art), in which awareness of Caricature art, its role in the fields of visual arts, daily challenge which the caricaturist faces, and clarifying the Saudi identity in designing the inspired characters, are addressed.
With respect of the last area, it deals with (The Future of Caricature art) reviewing inspiring experiences of Saudi caricaturists, and the seminar ends with discussing the future vision of Saudi caricature in the light of Vision 2030.
This seminar also includes two workshops about interactive drawing and principles of caricature art.
Tomorrow, on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:30 pm, an accompanying art exhibition will be held alongside the seminar to receive all visitors on the campus of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University – theater of College of Art and Design, Station (A8).
