Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, represented by its colleges and deanships, organized a series of events in celebration of International Volunteer Day. The initiative aims to promote a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility among university members, including faculty, administrative staff, and students, while encouraging them to invest their abilities in community service and to develop both personal and professional skills. The activities took place on campus. The on-campus events featured a variety of programs, most notably visual presentations, informational and interactive booths, and panel discussions highlighting real-life volunteer experiences. The program also included diverse educational and recreational activities centered on the values of volunteerism. In the same context, the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Student Volunteer Administration, offered several programs and activities, including a training course titled “Fundamentals of Volunteer Work” designed to raise students’ awareness of the importance of volunteerism, with nearly 300 participants. A panel discussion titled “The Passion for Volunteering” was also held, in addition to sessions showcasing success stories and inspiring experiences in the field of volunteer work. The events focused on motivating students to engage in volunteer work and community initiatives, helping to instill a spirit of giving, and reinforcing awareness of the positive role of volunteerism in developing skills, knowledge, and values. It is worth noting that the International Volunteer Day activities at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University align with the objectives of its Strategic Plan 2025, through promoting the concept of social responsibility and volunteerism among students, enhancing their participation in extracurricular activities, and contributing effectively to the development process.
