Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University received the renewed accreditation certificate from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Thursday, 20 November 2025, designating it once again as a Health-Promoting University for the period 2024–2027, after fulfilling all global standards and approved requirements. The renewal certificate was awarded at the university’s campus in the presence of the Acting President, Dr. Fawzia bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, during an official visit by the team from the Ministry of Health’s Healthy Cities Program, led by Dr. Abdullah bin Mufreh Aseri, Deputy Minister for Population Health. The WHO accreditation renewal recognizes that the university has met 101 international standards across six pathways: general requirements, campus environment, healthy lifestyles, health promotion, safety and emergency preparedness, community engagement, and sustainability. PNU first received this WHO accreditation in 2021 as the first Saudi and Arab university campus to be recognized as a Health-Promoting University. This achievement reflects PNU’s commitment to building healthy communities, providing a campus environment that supports well-being, and establishing an innovative community health system aligned with global standards.
