The event took place at the university’s central library. The exhibition focuses on reviving traditional crafts linked to cultural identity, showcasing them as part of the creative economy, connecting participants with local heritage, and equipping them with new skills in the same field. It also aims to strengthen national belonging through awareness of local handcrafted heritage. The two-day event includes panel discussions titled “From the Craft, the Story Begins” and “Handicrafts: A Heritage Renewed,” as well as specialized workshops such as “Aesthetic Features of Handicrafts in Traditional Saudi Dress,” “Woven Heritage: A Cultural Journey in Saudi Traditional Textile Art,” “Highlighting Patterns Using Dry Felting on Fabric,” and “Using Folk Motifs to Create a Textile Piece.” The exhibition features interactive stations and workshops, along with student artworks from the College of Design and Arts reflecting innovative artistic diversity. Various organizations, associations, and individuals in the field also participated. The exhibition comes in celebration of the Saudi Handicrafts Year 2025, highlighting the cultural significance of Saudi handicrafts as a national heritage and reinforcing their place locally and globally. It provides an interactive space bringing together academics, craftswomen, and enthusiasts. Dr. Badriyah Al-Busairi, Vice Dean of Library Affairs, stated that the exhibition aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of strengthening creative industries and reviving traditional crafts as a vital part of national identity and the creative economy.
